Pilgrimage Groups
Religious Pilgrimage
We welcome many religious pilgrim groups each year. We are an active shrine church, serving the building’s principal and original function: worshipping God and asking the intercession of the saints.
Please contact augustineshrine@rcaos.org.uk to arrange your pilgrimage to St Augustine’s. We have a range of options of liturgies and devotions for your group to join in and benefit from.
We are happy to tailor your day to your timings and requirements.
Sample Pilgrimage Programme
Entry and pilgrimage programmes are free, though we recommend a donation of £5 per person.
Pilgrims often also include in their day a visit to another sacred site nearby such as St Augustine’s Cross (where St Augustine preached to King Ethelbert’s); the shrine of St Mildred at Minster or they walk/drive to Canterbury along the Way of St Augustine.
