COVID-19 Guidelines

Guidelines allowing Public Masses to resume

Following the relaxation of lockdown, churches are once again allowed to admit people for the celebration of Mass, subject to strict social distancing and hygiene requirements.

Visitors are asked to provide contact details to the stewards to allow for contact tracing in the event of a localised outbreak of the coronavirus. The number of people at Mass is limited – we can only accommodate up to 18 households at the Shrine. Please note that there are no toilet facilities available.

Visitors are asked to use the hand sanitiser gel provided at the entrance and exit to the Shrine, and observe the one-way system. Face coverings must be worn, although we are aware that some people are exempt due to health reasons or disability, and we request that all our visitors respect this, noting that the reasons for any exemptions may not be visible to others.

The Visitor Centre and the Church will be open during slightly different hours, to allow time for cleaning, until further notice.

The Sunday Mass Obligation is still suspended to reflect the lower seating capacity available. During this time, there is an extra Mass on Saturday evening (according to the Ordinariate Use) and Sunday Mass in the Extraordinary Form is continuing to be livestreamed at 12noon on the Shrine’s YouTube Channel
